End of Season Review

Another season rolls to an end. Thank you to everyone that ensured the season

was well run. The green continues to improve which is a testimony to Pete & Tony.

Afterall the green is used by two clubs Keelby & Laceby which means around fifty

home fixtures. This has been done whilst we had the hottest and driest summer since

our formation.

44 league fixtures over three different leagues covered by only 21 members ( New members welcome)

produced the following outcome.

E.B.F. Division 1

After flirting with relegation for most of the season we finished 6th out of 9 teams.

This is some achievement as we only got promoted last year. well done to all.

E.B.A. Division 3

Always in the promotion hunt but missed out by one point to finish third.

The old adage every point and shot counts was certainly proven. A commendable

effort by everyone. We go again next year.

E.B.A. Nines Division 1

This is a very competitive league. Often playing against clubs filled with their A team

players, who have competitions at national level. We fought hard but our three year

stay was ended with relegation. Operation bounce back starts next year!

Humberside Competitions

Some members took part in the individual county competitions, both EBF and EBA.

P Briggs & D Webster reached the county final in the 2 bowl over 60’s pairs, but were

defeated in the final, thereby missing out on the English championships.

Pete Briggs was selected by Humberside to play for the Newton team which reached

the national finals and won! Defeating Suffolk in the final.

Keelby Pot Luck Doubles

This well attended fun competition was this year won by Jim Kirman and Alastair Griffin.

A gallant mention to the runners up Siobahn Bernhardt and Liz Austerfield.
